What we did today

The weekends that we spend with my daughter and granddaughter are always busy.  We plan all week what we are going to do.  In the winter we were usually held captive by the snow.  Movies were the fun thing, that and Sponge Bob, but we can only tolerate Sponge Bob to a certain point.  Anyway, we went to the Scranton Coal Mine Tour.  They take you 300 feet down in the mines.  They all watched me like hawks.  Instead Stacy was light headed and Dad was gettitg clastrophobic.  I won't admit to anything.  It is amazing that our ancestors worked in the mines from very tender ages almost till the day they died.  They just did different jobs as they reached certain ages.  My Great Grandfather and two of his sons worked in the mines.  The two boys were killed by mine explosions in their early twenties.  This is part of my heritage.  Think back, do you know any of yours?  If you do write it down, save it for your children.  They need to know these things too.  Slowly but surely I am writing it all down and putting it on Ancestry.

I hated History in school, now I wish I paid more attention.  I am finding relatives that fought in different Wars and don't have any idea as to why, till I look it up.

We went to have Coney Island hot dogs and then returned home to make Black-bottom cupcakes.  She stayed with me until the third tray and dumped me to go play Legos.  I'm amazed it took that long.  Oh well, must go, granddaughter is calling Grandma!
