Construction

Years ago we were having the house re-sided.  The man had all the siding off and was starting to put the new stuff on.  He let us know that he couldn't be there the next day and was sending someone else up to keep the job going.  We are always nice to whoever is working here.  Sometimes if you aren't the deliberately mess up the job.  So the next morning I heard some noise outside and went out to say hello.  The man introduced himself and his son.  I asked if they wanted coffee or something to drink.  Both declined but the Father was kind of sarcastic.  I ignored it and went back in the house.  Later I went to see how it was coming, like I did the day before.  Now, I don't know too much about hanging siding but I thought it was put on from the bottom up.  When I questioned him, he told me this is the way I am doing it.  Okay!  Back in the house I go.  Later I heard him yelling at his son and went to see what was going on.  He was threatening to whack the kid in the head with the hammer.  This guy got up on the wrong side of the bed today.  The situation was going from bad to worse by the minute.  I called Bob and requested he come home for lunch.  He suspected something was wrong.  Upon arriving he went to say hello and the guy mouthed off to him.  Not good.  Then Bob wanted to know why he was putting the siding on the way he was.  Then the guy said, "If you don't like it I will leave."  The situation went from bad to worse, with the guy loosing his temper again on his son.  We had to request that he leave the property.  He was a loose cannon.

The next day the regular guy came and wanted to know what happened.  I explained the situation.  He then told me that the man said Bob came home and told the guy to leave.  I laughed and said that was after all these things happened.  He apoligised and went about his work until he saw the back.  He did have to tear off what few pieces the guy put on.  I at least learned a few things that day, siding goes on bottom to top and keep an eye on the contractor.....
